It is advisable when driving to Edinburgh to avoid the City Centre due to the various one-way systems and the volume of traffic. Kildonan Lodge is very easy to find when you follow the appropriate directions.
From the City Centre
(East End of Princes Street at North Bridge/Leith Walk)
From the corner of Princes Street (East End) and North Bridge proceed South on North Bridge past the junction with the Royal Mile onto South Bridge. Keep on this straight road (the name changes several times) for 1.5 miles until you reach the hotel located on the left.
From the City By-pass at Straiton Junction

via the A1 (Berwick)
via the A68 (Jedburgh) and the A697/A68 (Coldstream)

Edinburgh International Airport is about 30 minutes and Waverley Train Station and St Andrews Bus Station are only a short taxi ride away. Edinburgh’s public transport system is excellent, very affordable and easy to use.
The hotel is located on the main bus route for the following bus numbers: 3, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37 and 49 which frequently stop outside the hotel to/from the city centre.
From the South West
via the M6, M74 and A701 (through Moffat - quick route)
via the M6 and A7 (through Hawick & Galashiels - tourist route)
North east on the A7 following the signs for Edinburgh until you reach the Sheriffhall Roundabout. Take the City By-pass West (A720W) and exit at 'Straiton Junction' following the sign for A701 City Centre.
